Our Story

Hi! My name's Dustin - the one on the right.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, so the idea of starting my own business always lived in the back of my mind — it just never felt like the right moment. But after buying my sewing machine and rediscovering so many of the hobbies I used to love, the vision for my own business finally came into focus.

That’s when Love, Dustin was born — named after myself as a personal “sign‑off” on the things I created. I formed the business in November 2025 and officially launched in January 2026.

Then, in June 2026, the brand evolved into something brighter, quirkier, and a whole lot more fun: Quafty.

Even with the rebrand, Love, Dustin will always hold a special place in my heart. It wasn’t just the beginning of a business — it was the beginning of me stepping into who I am as a maker.

Where the Stitch Began

My love of fashion and sewing began the day I discovered a stack of my mom’s fashion design sketches tucked inside her scrapbooking supplies. That spark grew even brighter as I got involved in theatre, slipping into countless costumes across so many productions.

Seeing the craftsmanship behind both everyday items and dramatic stage pieces pulled me deeper into the art, planning, and construction of sewing - garments and accessories alike.

And then came Ugly Betty — first on the TV Guide Channel when I was a kid, and then Hulu much later in life. That show flipped a switch in me and I knew it was finally time to try it for myself.

So in February 2025, as JoAnn Fabrics began going out of business, I bought my very first sewing machine. The rest is history.

Each piece I make comes from that same love for this craft. Sharing that fascination with others has become one of my favorite parts of this journey.
